Abstract of ITM-ADIOS2 Project

Continue the evaluation of the use of ADIOS for parallel I/O in codes supplied by the ITM for checkpoint-restart and, possibly, for inter-process communication. In 2012 ADIOS was shown to deliver very high I/O performance rates from a test program, and was also used to identify some issues with the I/O infrastructure on HELIOS. This continuation requests the extension of this work to real programs and to demonstrate that it can be used for checkpoint-restart. Time permitting, it also requests for an investigation of advanced ADIOS features.
